UK Women in Finance Charter

2024 PROGRESS UPDATE

Columbia Threadneedle Investments EMEA signed the Women in Finance Charter as a pledge to foster greater gender balance across our business and the financial services sector.

Our long-term ambition is to increase the proportion of women in our EMEA workforce. We are also working towards increasing the representation of women in senior management – as of December 2024 this figure in the UK was 26.6% with a target of 35.0% by the end of 2028.

We reviewed our gender representation targets in 2025 to better reflect our broader organisational structure, recognising that Columbia Threadneedle is part of a larger, global financial services firm. This resulted in evolving how we define our target populations for our UK-based entities. For more information on how we define our target populations, please see the footnotes below.
As of 31 December 2024, women represented 42.5% of our workforce, and we continue to focus on supporting women in EMEA at key stages of their career, including:
Partnering with Girls Are Investors (GAIN), a charity with a mission to improve gender diversity in investment management by developing a strong entry-level talent pipeline.
Embedding inclusive recruitment practices to ensure we consider the widest range of candidates for vacant positions with a focus on balanced shortlists and drawing upon different perspectives to support candidate assessment.
Working across our organisation to embed inclusive talent practices and programmes to help all employees achieve their potential. This includes providing targeted professional development programmes for women.
Our Women’s Interest Network builds a strong internal community of women and allies and plays a vital role in raising awareness of key issues and supporting personal and professional development.
Driving long-term, sustainable change across our industry and firm takes time and strategic focus. We recognise the work required, and we will continue to take action to remove barriers and accelerate measurable progress.
Since 2024, Columbia Threadneedle’s accountable executive for the Charter has been David Logan, Head of EMEA and Global Business Operations.
