Gareth Simmons is a Senior Portfolio Manager in the High Yield Bond Team and Head of Sustainable Investment Strategy, Fixed Income. He is the lead manager of CT (Lux) European High Yield Bond and CT (Lux) European Short-Term High Yield Bond along with a number of institutional high yield mandates that incorporate ESG and sustainability objectives. Gareth joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments in 2011 as a credit analyst covering the Telecom, Media, and Technology (TMT) sectors. Since 2020, he has been dedicated to managing high yield mandates, having assumed portfolio management responsibilities in 2015. Prior to joining the company, Gareth was a sell-side TMT credit analyst at Morgan Stanley. Gareth holds a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Durham and the Investment Management Certificate. He is also a member of the UK Transition Finance Council and Co-Chair of the IIGCC’s Bondholder Stewardship Working Group.
