Daniel Winterbottom is Chief Operating Officer – Thames River Capital. Daniel was appointed to this role in 2025 in addition to his portfolio management responsibilities across the range of TRC funds. He is assistant manager of the CT Global Real Estate Securities Fund, co-manager of the US Columbia Real Estate Equity Fund and of a number of other accounts with a focus on strategy replication and efficient portfolio management. Daniel joined Columbia Threadneedle through the acquisition of BMO GAM (EMEA) in 2021, having been with BMO since July 2015, where his responsibilities included managing the Global Real Estate Securities strategy and portfolio analysis. Previously he was an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Schroders, responsible for the management and efficient implementation of quantitative equity investment strategies. Prior to this, he was an Analyst with Thames River Capital from 2009 to 2014 (which he re-joined in 2015 as part of the BMO group). Daniel previously held positions at BlueBay Asset Management as a Junior Portfolio Manager for an equity long/short strategy, at BlackRock as an analyst reviewing Fixed Income portfolios and began his career with Merrill Lynch Investment Management in 2002. Daniel holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from King’s College, London and the Investment Management Certificate. He is also a CFA charterholder.
